Wiltsie Truck Bodies Ltd. is Southwestern Ontario’s leading Dump Body installer while also providing a variety of custom bodies (flat decks, grain, cylinder, van, and service). We pride ourselves in providing quality products, and services to the trucking industry.

Brake and Shear Operator

JOB TYPE: Full Time (8 – 9 hours daily) 7:30 – 5:00.
SALARY: $22 - $24/hr. , group benefits and opportunities for overtime.

Responsibilities

Preparation and fabrication of parts
Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions
Select and transport material to work area manually or using crane or hoist;
Operate the machines and controls in safe manner
Minimize scrap while operating the machines.
Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications;
Troubleshoot, perform corrective action or minor repairs;
Document work completed;
Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment;
Follow safety procedures and be safety conscious.
Complete measurement conversions from metric to imperial, fractions to decimals.
Communication, people skills and interacting well with others.
Maintain equipment to ensure safety
Wear required protective clothing (steel toed boots, face shield, gloves, etc.)

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years experience working on Brake and Shear
Previous experience and knowledge of operating hand and power tools
Adherence to safety standards relating to operation of equipment and work processes
Possess strong attention to quality and detail
Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job (bending, stooping crouching, twisting, lifting to 50 lbs., performing repetitive tasks, and standing for extended periods of time)
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to follow directions and perform assigned tasks safely and efficiently
Ability to communicate both verbal & written in the English language
Willingness to learn additional skills and complete other duties as assigned

Automotive Painter

We are a seeking a skilled automotive painter to join our team focusing on truck body pre-paint prep and painting.

JOB TYPE: Full time (8 - 9 hours daily) 7:30 - 5:00.
SALARY: We offer a competitive wage, bonuses, group benefits and opportunities for overtime.

Responsibilities

Pre-paint prep: sanding, grinding, cleaning, masking & taping
Use of a variety hand and pneumatic tools for preparation of truck bodies for paint
Mix paint while ensuring proper identification and colour codes to meet customer specifications
Read specifications to determine quantities of materials required
Apply primers, acrylic enamel, polyurethane, base coat, clear coat and other types of paint using paint spray guns
Paint Automotive quality paints and produce an automotive quality finish
Ensure that painted surfaces meet Quality Standards, Customer Standards, and Paint Manufacture requirements in order to meet all Warranty Standards
Promote a positive work environment through cooperation and good work relations with all staff and clientele
Clean and maintain spray guns, spray booths and other equipment
Comply with all WHMIS and environmental regulations regarding the storage, use and disposal of hazardous chemicals
Wear appropriate PPE [Personal Protective Equipment] at the shop
Use good judgement to eliminate waste in your area and become more efficient
Contribute to cost reduction ideas and continuous improvement activities
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Grade 12 or equivalent experience
At least 1 – 2 years previous work-related experience in a related industry or with automotive paint finishes, bodywork, and prepping parts
Knowledge of and experience with paint formulation and mixing (thinners, catalyst, cure times, coat density, epoxy, polyurethane)
Knowledge of safety equipment regarding the chemicals used in the area
Ability to estimate and measure the job for preparation of material and paint
Ability to work with others and be an effective team member
Ability to follow directions and perform assigned tasks safely and efficiently
Ability to communicate both verbal & written in the English language
Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job (bending, stooping crouching, twisting, lifting to 50 lbs, performing repetitive tasks, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods of time)
Designation as an Industrial Painter or Automotive Painter an asset
Knowledge/Experience with overhead crane and rigging an asset (we can train)
Forklift truck driving an asset

Welder / Fitter

We are seeking positive, hardworking individuals to join our welding team.

JOB TYPE: Full time (8 - 9 hours daily) 7:30 - 5:00.

Responsibilities

Set up components for welding per specifications
Cut materials with power saws
Operate angle grinders in prep for welding
Operate welding and cutting equipment (mig, plasma and oxy/acetylene torch)
Repair machinery and various components by welding
Critically inspect welded surfaces for flaws
Maintain equipment to insure safety
Work efficiently independently and in a team environment
Wear required protective clothing (steel toed boots, face shield, gloves, etc.)
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Experience using a variety of welding equipment, power saws, grinders, drills, impact guns
Experience using a variety of manual tools (saws, tape measure, calipers, etc.)
Adherence to safety standards relating to operation of equipment and work processes
Possess strong attention to quality and detail
Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job (bending, stooping crouching, twisting, lifting to 50 lbs., performing repetitive tasks, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods of time)

Sand Blaster

We are seeking a Sand Blaster who will prepare metal surfaces by removing imperfections, mill scale and rust by means of sand blasting in prep for the next process.

JOB TYPE: Full time (8 - 9 hours daily) 7:30 - 5:00.
SALARY: We offer a competitive wage, bonuses, group benefits and opportunities for overtime.

Responsibilities

Sand blast the surface of the steel to meet desired Customer and Quality Standards
Scuff / rough surface of steel in order to promote a good base for paint to adhere
Mask specific areas on parts and assemblies to protect them from abrading action
Use compressed air to ensure sand and grit particles are removed from metal surface before painting procedure begins
Follow all Occupational Health & Safety Rules and Regulations
Maintain a constant awareness of sand and inventory supply
Inform Parts Manager on the status of inventory so it may be replenished
Meet daily production demands
Maintain blasting equipment

Qualifications

Minimum of a grade twelve education or equivalent
Previous experience in sand blasting is an asset
On job training will be provided
Ability to complete time sensitive work according to supervisor's direction
must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job (bending, stooping crouching, twisting, lifting to 50 lbs., performing repetitive tasks, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods of time)
Quality and detail oriented
